Bobanick will discuss Harvest Against Hunger at Aug. 2 Rotary meeting

David Bobanick will discuss Harvest Against Hunger at the Rotary Club of Mercer Island’s in-person meeting on Aug. 2 at the Mercer Island Community and Event Center, 8236 SE 24th St. The meeting will take place from 12:30-1:30 p.m. with a social hour prior.

Bobanick, a Rotary member and the executive director of Harvest Against Hunger, will discuss how providing healthy food to people in need builds healthier communities. The Seattle-based nonprofit connects farmers, truckers, food banks, volunteers and others to reduce hunger and food waste, and help get nutritious surplus produce to hungry people across Washington state and beyond.

At the meeting, Rotary members and guests enjoy a local, fresh lunch from a Mercer Island restaurant. Currently, the club is collaborating with Homegrown. Guests can enjoy their first lunch “on us.”
