Police are searching for two suspects involved in a carjacking that took place near Covenant Shores early on Sunday morning. The suspects were also caught on tape while attempting to use the victim’s stolen credit card at an ATM.

The victim was robbed at gunpoint while he was delivering newspapers in the 9100 block of North Mercer Way around 4 a.m., Sunday. He was unharmed.

A statement from police said a male suspect approached a man delivering the Seattle Times and showed him a handgun outside of the car while the delivery man was holding a stack of newspapers. The victim told police he knew what the suspect wanted, so he dropped the newspapers and threw his keys into the car. The victim’s wallet was also in the car.

About an hour later, a surveillance camera at an automated-teller machine at a bank in SeaTac showed a man and a woman attempting to use the victim’s credit card in the ATM.

The surveillance photos show a young man with his head down and a young woman wearing a hooded sweatshirt.

The victim’s silver 2005 Toyota Corolla was recovered on Wednesday afternoon in the 16700 block of International Boulevard in SeaTac by the King County sheriff’s office.
