Cracked window: A window was cracked, but did not shatter, at 8:15 a.m. in the 8200 block of S.E. 24th Street when it was struck by a woman who slipped during an exercise class. There were no injuries.
Car prowl: A Bonnie Doone purse was stolen from a Mercer Island woman’s unlocked vehicle, a Ford Expedition, in the 9100 block of S.E. 42nd Street during the last MIHS football game of the season between 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m., Nov. 5. The woman, 46, reported the theft at 12:43 p.m.
Car prowl: Two cars, a Chevrolet and a Ford Escape, were prowled overnight at the same address in the 7200 block of S.E. 32nd Street. The thief broke a window in the first car and stole a Mac laptop. A 12-inch subwoofer was taken out of the second car, which had been unlocked. An iPod was also stolen.
Key box found: A Mercer Island man, 62, came to the police station and reported finding a black key box that contained 15 keys at the Lid Park on 70th Avenue S.E.
Abandoned vehicle: A Toyota truck was impounded from the 8800 block of S.E. 54th Street after it had been left unattended for more than one week. It had been tagged on Nov. 4. The suspect is a 36-year-old Mercer Island man.
Fraud: A 63-year-old Mercer Island woman reported at 4:02 p.m. that her credit card information was used simultaneously in New York and Connecticut while she was using it in Alaska from Oct. 26 to Oct. 28. She was notified by her bank. The total fraudulent charges were $379.21, and the victim suspects that her information was taken when she used her card at a Capitol Hill bar on Aug. 19, before the bar was shut down because of a credit card scheme.
Theft: An iPod was reported stolen out of a 15-year-old Mercer Island boy’s backpack while he was in school at MIHS between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., Oct. 22.
Arrest: A Sultan man, 27, was arrested at 4:28 p.m. in the 8100 block of eastbound I-90 after being stopped for driving with a suspended license, according to a police DOL check. The vehicle was given over to a licensed friend. After being processed and cited at the MIPD, the driver was released.
Nov. 9
Arrest: A Lynnwood man, 34, was arrested at 4:02 p.m. in the 8000 block of S.E. 27th Street for driving with a suspended license. Police stopped the vehicle after a DOL check revealed that the registered owner had a suspended license. The driver, however, was not the registered owner, but also had a suspended license, in addition to five FTAs. The vehicle, which was registered to a 41-year-old Duvall man, was towed. The driver was cited and released at the MIPD.
