Top: The city of Mercer Island and Mercer Island Chinese Association presented a Lunar New Year Celebration at the community and event center on Feb. 11. Mercer Island School District staff members were present to visit with attendees, eight Islander Middle School orchestra students performed three songs and Mercer Island High School junior Chloe Yang held a fundraiser that directly supports the Asian Counseling and Referral Service, which recently lost 1.4 tons of frozen food during a power outage.
