Champlain will discuss Boeing at May 6 Rotary meeting

Susan Champlain, Boeing’s senior director of state and local government operations, will speak about “Boeing Washington” at the Rotary Club of Mercer Island’s meeting on May 6 at the Mercer Island Community and Event Center, 8236 SE 24th St.

The main meeting begins at 12:30 p.m.; socializing is from noon to 12:30 p.m. Guests are always welcome and there is no fee to attend. A catered lunch from Pogacha is available for $25, or attendees can bring their own meal.

Champlain will discus the exciting work happening within Boeing’s facilities, along with an update regarding safety and quality in its factories, and its progress with workforce development. In her presentation, she will share an update about Boeing’s ongoing partnerships and community investments in the Puget Sound region.

At Boeing, Champlain leads the Northwest State and Local Government Operations team, managing relationships with elected officials and business leaders in Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho and Hawaii.

Previously, she held a series of positions within Boeing, including policy and state and local government relations roles where she developed company positions on public policy and represented the company in Olympia. She joined Boeing in 1999 as manager of Legislative Affairs in Washington, D.C., lobbying members of Congress on international trade issues.
