Safely dispose of the old equipment, electronics, appliances and other household items that are cluttering your basement or garage at the Mercer Island Fall Recycling Event on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Mercer Island boat launch.

Residents can also pick up a rain barrel, at a highly discounted rate, to use in water conservation projects around the garden. These are available starting at 9 a.m. at City Hall.

Volunteers for Mercer Island Youth and Family Services will be on hand to accept donations of food or cash for the food bank.
