City plugs in its Mostly Music in the Park series

Mercer Island’s Mostly Music in the Park summer outdoor concert series is back with bands delivering classic rock, country, oldies and more from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Thursdays from now through mid-August at Mercerdale Park.

Here’s the lowdown:

July 20 — The Brian James Trio (covers and originals)

July 27 — The Davanos (classic rock and blues)

Aug. 3 — Wally and The Beaves (oldies variety band)

Aug. 10 — The Olson Bros. Band (country rock)

Aug. 17 — Portage Bay Big Band (big band)

Along with the tunes, there will be hands-on arts and crafts for kids of all ages.

Russian Chamber Music presented the “Shining Stars of Tomorrow” children’s classical piano concert to kick off the series on July 13.
