On Thursday, August 7, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., the Mercer Island Parks and Recreation Department will be conducting a public meeting to discuss current park issues related to the existing dock and shoreline infrastructure at Groveland Park. The meeting will be held at the shoreline (swim beach) of Groveland Park, at 7740 S.E. 58th Street, and all community participation is encouraged.
A recent study concluded the dock structures are failing and the shoreline is being undermined and suffering from erosion. The purpose of this meeting is to work with interested residents to discuss the needed repairs, and to incorporate ideas and feedback into the design. Throughout the entire planning process, written and electronic mail comments are welcomed and accepted.
