Community calendar | Annual book night at Island Books is Wednesday

The eighth annual Island Books Night will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., March 30, at Island Books. The theme is “Banquet of Books,” featuring reviews by Roger and Nancy Page of current sellers, and the event is hosted by the Senior Foundation. Bring a copy of a favorite contemporary book and share briefly what makes it special; call Barbara (232-2835) to reserve a space to speak. Raffle tickets will be sold for $5 for a luncheon cruise for 6-8 people with hosts Martha and Fredric Weiss aboard their 37-foot Nordic tug, Teewinot. Proceeds go toward supplies and emergency preparedness kit assembly for Island seniors. Island Books is located at 3014 78th Ave. S.E.
