The Mercer Island Community and Event Center will be closed for its annual facility maintenance beginning Dec. 22 through Jan. 4 when crews will perform extensive deep cleaning of all surfaces, strip and wax the gymnasium floors, and repair failing tiles in the Mercer Room.
Crews will also complete significant furniture and equipment upgrades, including the assembly of 95 new meeting room tables, the installation of solar lighting on the Annex pathway, and the replacement of lighting fixtures. Over at the Fitness Center, crews will perform detailed equipment maintenance and use specialized lifts to reach and clean high-ceiling areas in the gym.
