Plan ahead: Potential three mile backups this weekend on northbound I-405 into Bellevue

Heads up: At 9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 24, WSDOT will close the northbound I-405 carpool lane at I-90 for 38 hours to repair pavement. The agency is predicting backups up to three miles on Saturday, Aug. 25, (especially between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.), so plan ahead and check out our traffic maps and cameras before you hit the road.

Overnight Friday and Saturday crews will also close up to three lanes of northbound I-405 between NE 85th Street and NE 160th Street to restripe the area to make room for median work. The first lane will close at 9 p.m., the second at 10 p.m., and the third at 1 a.m. All lanes open by 8 a.m. the next day.
