Cyclists, buses, attitude

The apology and incident [re: bus v. cyclist] would never have occurred if the cyclist would consider big yellow objects on the road as elephants and give them space. I do, even when in my Dodge Ram 3/4-ton pickup with extended cab and duals.

Cyclists should remember that our roads and highways were built for cars, trucks and buses. Cyclists are guests on our roads — start acting like sober ones.

If cyclists wish equality on our roads, let them start paying for it. I think a $2,000 bike should equal the license fee of a Masaratti. If they could pay their share, then I’d be more patient and giving when following them three and four abreast on West Mercer Way.

Cyclists tend to bullies. They have an attitude of “get out of my way, here I come.” Walk the Gilman Trail and you will experience what I mean.

Cycling is adventure on two wheels. Declaring righteousness can make it a deadly adventure. Don’t get me wrong; I really like cyclists. Particularly those who park their bikes in Starbucks racks for extended periods of time.
