Back in the time when the dragon was proposed (at Island Crest Park), I was asked if my company, Kaiser Cement, would donate the cement for the stucco. That was like pulling teeth as requests for donations from Kaiser were always coming in. Yet, with a little persistence and help from several Mercer Island Kaiser employees, we made it work, and of course the dragon was completed.

I was proud as a 10-year citizen then to have helped and hopefully have contributed much more in the next 51 years. May the “Rock” endure!
