Eastside Volunteer Fair is this Saturday

The Family Resource Center will host its 13th annual Eastside Volunteer Fair between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 24, at Crossroads Mall in Bellevue. More than 50 agencies are expected to participate, including human services, housing, health, arts, education and community organizations. The entertainment stage will feature a variety of jazz and cultural entertainment.

The Eastside Volunteer Fair is designed to provide a “one-stop” opportunity for the community to identify volunteer opportunities in which they would like to participate and to learn about services offered throughout the Eastside. Participants learn which agency is a fit for their interests, where their civic club might make an impact, who can welcome a classroom or a troop and, very simply, “who is doing what out there.”

Over 40,000 Eastsiders, half of them children, receive assistance each year from the 18 agencies operating on the center’s unique human services campus and other support provided by the Family Resource Center. Major agencies on the campus include Hopelink, Sound Mental Health, Friends of Youth, HealthPoint, Youth Eastside Services, Habitat for Humanity and many more.

The Family Resource Center, a regional nonprofit organization located in Redmond, is a national model for “one-stop” service and collaboration among health and human services agencies. “We work to ensure that all are able to find the help they need, when they need it,” said Family Resource Center Executive Director Pam Mauk.
