Longtime Islander and Mercer Island Historical Society member and leader Phil Flash was honored for his service to the organization with the dedication of a new bench at the Mercer Island Community and Events Center that bears his name. The dedication followed a meeting of the Society that included a birthday celebration. Flash turned 96 last week.
