Hopping along to the library reopening

Linda Lisbakken sits with her granddaughter, Berrit Martz, 4, prior to the reopening of the Mercer Island Library on July 7. They were excitedly waiting for the doors to open while partaking in their lunch on the library’s signature rabbit statue. The library — located at 4400 88th Ave. SE — had been closed since March of 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Doors will be open from 1-8 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Andy Nystrom/ staff photo
