On Tuesday, June 17, the Mercer Island Police Department Detectives served a search warrant on a Seattle residence in the Holly Park neighborhood. The occupants were under investigation for credit card fraud on Mercer Island and in several neighboring cities.

The suspects were targeting QFC stores, Fred Meyer, Kroger’s and other similar retailers in the area.  During the search warrant process, detectives seized nearly 300 fraudulent gift cards (actual value still pending), 140 Oxycodone pills with a street value of $4,200, approximately 40 grams of crack cocaine, cash, computers, cell phones and a stolen vehicle.

The MIPD Detectives were assisted by the Seattle Police SWAT Unit, a Prosecutor from the King County Prosecutor’s Office, the FBI, and agents from the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

Detectives will conduct additional investigations to determine how widespread this case is. It’s expected to take several months.
