For the fourth time this season the Mercer Island boys lacrosse team has won a game, staying undefeated with a perfect record. The Islanders beat Curtis Monday evening 17-4.

The Islanders cruised to a 6-1 lead at the end of the first quarter, followed by another seven in the second for a 13-3 halftime lead. Mercer Island added four more goals, while holding Curtis to just one in the second half.

Connor Bernal had five goals in the game, with six ground balls, while Alex Robbs added four goals and four ground balls. Grant Preisler had four goals with two assists and Hayden Reisman had two goals, five ground balls. Benji Rothenberg made five saves in the game for the Islanders.

The team will host the Northwest Invitational Tournament this weekend, beginning Friday, March 23. The Islanders will face Oregon’s Lake Oswego at 8 p.m at MIHS and will take on Lincoln on Saturday, March 24, also at 8 p.m. at MIHS.
