Islanders hold leadership roles in state Legislature

Judy Clibborn, Tana Senn and Steve Litzow are returning to Olympia in influential positions.

Three Islanders represent the 41st District in the Washington state Legislature. They are:

Rep. Judy Clibborn, D-Mercer Island, serves as chair of the House Transportation Committee, and is on the Health Care & Wellness Committee.

The House Transportation Committee considers the transportation budget, revenue sources for transportation funding and issues relating to transportation policy and agencies, including the Department of Transportation and the Washington State Patrol. Rep. Tana Senn, D-Mercer Island, has been appointed to  the Appropriations and the Early Learning & Human Services Committees. She was also named vice-chair of the General Government and Information Technology Committee.

The General Government and  Information Technology Committee will consider issues relating to the funding of state government operations, including corrections, parks and information technology, totaling upwards of $5 billion. Contact Rep. Senn at 360-786-7894.

 

Sen. Steve Litzow, R-Mercer Island, chairs the Senate Early Learning & K-12 Education Committee and sits on committees for Transportation and Financial Institutions & Insurance.
