Following the news of having to forfeit six regular season wins for using an ineligible player, Mercer Island volleyball swept KingCo title-winners Bellevue in its regular season finale, winning 25-15, 25-17 and 25-18. The Islanders finished league play in second place, earning the second seed going into the 3A KingCo postseason tournament.

Brooke Behrbaum and Kelly Behrbaum each had nine kills for Mercer Island, while Jemma Yeadon posted eight kills, 13 digs, two aces and two blocks. Olivia Hughes had six kills and a block, and Natalie Robinson had 37 assists, seven digs and three aces for the Islanders.

Mercer Island will compete in the 3A KingCo Championship Tournament at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30 at Juanita High School.
