You may have noticed a chain-link fence around the Jacksons convenience store and Shell gas station on 78th Avenue S.E. and S.E. 29th Street.
The store will be closed for five weeks for remodeling, according to Jacksons’ district manager, Warren Johnson. The Shell gas station will be closed for only three weeks.
“Wait until you see how beautiful it’s going to be,” Johnson said.
He said the owner of the Jacksons stores, John Jackson, has a certain image he wants the stores to project. Johnson said the chain is modernizing several of its stores.
Jacksons, a Chevron/Texaco and Shell marketer based in Meridian, Idaho, founded Jacksons Food Stores, Inc. in 1975 as a single service station, and has grown to be a nationally recognized chain of over 200 branded convenience stores in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Nevada. Johnson said the chain has 10 stores from Issaquah to downtown Seattle that are in his district.
