The Mercer Island High School (MIHS) Black Student Union will host a Juneteenth Community Celebration from noon to 4 p.m. on June 19 at Mercerdale Park. The event is sponsored by the city of Mercer Island and will feature live music by the MIHS jazz quartet and Hit Explosion along with DJ Teddy; face painting and a balloon artist; the MIHS drill team; Black-owned food trucks; and 88.9 KMIH The Bridge.
