Mailbox break-ins occur on Island | Mercer Island police blotter

April 15

Mailbox break-in: Someone broke into a mailbox, but didn’t steal anything in the 8600 block of North Mercer Way.

April 14

Theft: Someone stole a diaper bag that a park visitor left on a bench at Luther Burbank Park.

April 13

Theft: In the 8400 block of North Mercer Way, someone broke into a bank of mailboxes.

April 12

Theft: It was reported that someone broke into a bank of mailboxes in the 7700 block of Southeast 58th Street.

April 11

Theft: A resident in the 8200 block of Avalon Drive reported being unaware that their credit card was stolen in the mail a number of months ago. It has been used to make fraudulent charges dating back months.

April 10

Malicious mischief: The front door to a lobby was damaged — and possible forced entry was unsuccessful — in the 7600 block of North Mercer Way.

April 9

Wrong door: In the 2700 block of 76th Avenue Southeast, a resident likely opened the wrong apartment door by mistake and quickly departed.
