Mercer Island girls swim and dive swam past Liberty Tuesday at Mary Wayte Pool to take the 3A/2A KingCo dual meet championship.

Mercer Island girls swim and dive swam past Liberty Tuesday at Mary Wayte Pool to take the 3A/2A KingCo dual meet championship. The Islanders bested the Patriots 122-61, finishing the season undefeated as a team in dual meet competition.

The Islanders won nine of the meet’s 12 events, including all three relay events. The team of Kristin Jradi, Leah Fisk, Sabrina Kwan and Heather Robinson won the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:53.75, while Sabrina Kwan, Maeve Murdoch, Heather Robinson and Ellie Williams took the 200 free relay at 1:43.91. The Islanders won the 400 free relay with the team of Murdoch, Sammie Edwards, Williams and Fisk finishing in 3:47.1.

Kwan was the top finisher in the 50 free and 100 fly, with winning times of 25.1 and 59.76 respectively. Fisk took the 200 IM in 2:13.1 and Murdoch won the 100 free in 55.42. Hadley Michaels won the diving event for Mercer Island with a score of 156.05, and Sofija Raisys won the 100 breast with a time of 1:11.63.

Next for the Islanders will be the 3A KingCo Championships at the University of Washington pool. Preliminaries begin at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30.
