During the win, Hayden Reisman had two goals, an assist and four ground balls, while Connor Bernal added three goals and seven ground balls. Alex Robbs had a goal and an assist, Mike Schwartz posted one goal and Carlos Barrios made seven saves.

The day before the team beat Lake Oswego, another Oregon team, 9-7.

During that game, Bernal had two goals and four ground balls, while Robbs made two goals. PEter Mahony added a goal and an assist, and Barrios made 10 saves.

The team travels later this week to New York for several games, including a match against Ward-Melville, a perennial national power.

Friday, the Mercer Island fastpitch team hosted Garfield in a make up game, winning 5-1.

The Islanders had a two run advantage going into the scoreless third inning, followed by a two run fourth for a 4-1 game. The team added another run in the bottom of the fifth to win the game. The Islanders had nine hits and one error during the game, while holding the Bulldogs to four hits and just one run.

The Mercer Island baseball team traveled to Bothell for a Saturday non-conference game. The Islanders won 4-2 over the Cougars.

Bothell was up 1-0 at the end of the first inning, but Mercer Island scored two runs in the second, while holding the Cougars to just one, tying the game. The next two innings went by without scoring, but Mercer Island had two in the fifth, the last runs to be scored in the game. Mercer Island had three hits with four runs and one error, while Bothell had eight hits, two runs and four errors.

Nick Holstead was 1-2 with two RBI and a double. Max Dammeier was credited with the win, striking out four, allowing four hits and two runs. Hunter Goldberg earned the save, pitching for two innings with three strike outs and four hits.

Friday, the boys soccer team travled to Juanita for a KingCo match. The Islanders lost 4-1 to the Rebels.

Mercer Island’s Jake Michael was the first to score, an unassisted goal in the 34th minute, but the team could never make it back into the goal after that. Juanita scored goals in the 42nd minute, 59th, 65th and 74th minutes of the game.
