The Mercer Island girls tennis team traveled to face non-conference opponent Bellarmine Prep on Wednesday, April 10 in Tacoma. Mercer Island won 4-2.

In the singles competition, Nora Tan beat Veena Lyengar 6-0, 6-0, while Lydia Venditti beat Kennidy Takehara 6-4, 6-0.

In the doubles competition Bellarmine’s Meesha Sundarum and Lucy Meske beat Gabby Venditti and Caroline Dillon 6-7 (6-8) 6-7 (0-7). Mercer Island’s Jamie Mounger and Caroline Hamilton beat Shelby Hopkins and Kelly Titus 7-5, 6-2, while Sarah Swee and Melanie Lee beat Jacklyn Pecaro and Mia Smith 6-1, 6-1. Bellarmine’s second win came from Tino Sekeramayi and Megan Yates, who beat Ashley Larson and Erin Crandall 6-3, 6-3.
