The Mercer Island boys soccer team picked up a huge nine goal win over Bellevue on Tuesday night. The final score was 9-1 for the Islanders.

The Mercer Island boys soccer team picked up a huge nine goal win over Bellevue on Tuesday night. The final score was 9-1 for the Islanders.

The game started with the first of four goals by Jordan Morris. In the 10th minute he scored an unassisted goal, followed by another goal two minutes later, this time assisted by Alex Wood.

Morris assisted the team’s third goal, scored by Jake Michael, in the 27th minute. The team’s remained scoreless until the second half, when Alberto Perez scored in the 54th minute, assisted by Michael. Morris earned his third of the night with an assist by Wood in the 55th minute.

Bellevue’s Mitch Johnson scored the Wolverine’s only goal of the night in the 58th minute, but Mercer Island quickly returned the favor with Morris’ fourth of the game, assisted by Josh Lee in the 63rd minute.

The Islanders would score three more times, with Michael, Lee and Perez each scoring – all assisted by Wood.

Mercer Island will host Sammamish on Friday night in a 7:30 p.m. KingCo game.
