Mercer Island seeks comment on transportation plan update

The City of Mercer Island, along with other cities around the state, are working on updates to the six-year transportation improvement plan (TIP). The plan includes roadway, pedestrian and bike projects planned out for six years, starting in 2013.

The City of Mercer Island, along with other cities around the state, are working on updates to the six-year transportation improvement plan (TIP). The plan includes roadway, pedestrian and bike projects planned out for six years, starting in 2013.

Public comment for the Mercer Island plan began April 1 and runs throughout the month.

Anyone interested in learning more can view the TIP, adopted by the City in 2011, online at www.mercergov.org/TIP.

The City will hold a public hearing on the draft at the May 21 Council meeting at 7 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers. The plan is scheduled to be adopted by the Council on June 18.
