Mercer Island shuts out Kennedy | Girls prep lacrosse results

The Mercer Island girls lacrosse team shutout Kennedy on Monday evening, winning 24-0. The Islanders had 15 goals in the first half, and added nine in the second to easily run away with the win.

The Mercer Island girls lacrosse team shutout Kennedy on Monday evening, winning 24-0.

The Islanders had 15 goals in the first half, and added nine in the second to easily run away with the win.

Tyler Sherper had four goals, two assists and a caused turnover for the Islanders, while teammate Katie Harris added four more goals with two ground balls during the win. Madison Blackburn posted three goals, as did Dulce Moll and Elena Skouras. Sally Carroll had three goals as well, while Saffron Snethen had three goals and three draw controls. Taylor Dahlgren earned nine draw controls during the win, as Erika Eagan racked up six saves.

The Islanders sit in first place in the conference, with a five point lead over Ballard in the Alki Conference. The team is now 6-2-1 this season and will play Garfield on Thursday, April 26 at Magnuson Park in Seattle at 6 p.m.
