Behind three goals from Ryan Hill, Mercer Island boys soccer topped Liberty 4-2 in the 3A KingCo tournament title game at Liberty High School Tuesday, May 13, earning a trip to the 3A state tournament. Mercer Island will be District 2’s number one seed in the state bracket.

In his second-straight KingCo tournament game with three goals, Hill’s first strike in the 34th minute gave Mercer Island a 2-0 advantage. Two more goals from Hill in the 51st and 71st minutes gave the Islanders a commanding 4-1 lead, all they’d need to hold on for the win.

Mercer Island will either play its 3A state first-round game May 19 or 20.
