League of Women Voters of Seattle-King County and Mercer Island PTA Council 2.9 will present a Mercer Island virtual candidate forum from 7-8:30 p.m. Oct. 12.

City council candidates are:

Position 2 — Daniel Becker and Salim Nice

Position 4 — Michael D. Curry and Ted Weinberg

Position 6 — Kate Akyuz and Lisa Anderl

School district candidates are:

Director Position No. 2 — Brian Giannini Upton and Dan Glowitz

Director Position No. 4 — Lacey Aaker and Deborah Lurie

People can register in advance to view the forum at https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_coN7jrQ8SPKDWv9996zzpg, and send candidate questions to advocacy@miptacouncil.org before Oct. 12.

The general election is set for Nov. 2. Ballots will be mailed on Oct. 13 and drop boxes will open on Oct. 14. A local drop box will be located at the Mercer Island Community and Event Center parking lot at 8236 SE 24th St.
