The Mercer Island Youth and Family Services food bank is low and accepting donations.

Summer break increases families’ needs for lunches and snacks for children. To help low-income families in need, the food bank requests quick meals with proteins that parents and older siblings can make. Needed items include: chili, tuna, Chef Boyardee, chicken broth, pasta sauces, fruit, prepared boxed meals, jams and jellies, baking supplies and food cards for fresh fruits and vegetables.

Donations can be delivered to the Mercer Island Community Center, MIYFS offices in Luther Burbank Park and the Thrift Shop during business hours.
