MI Design Commission to hold special meeting on May 16

Mercer Island’s Design Commission will hold a special hybrid meeting and public hearing at 6 p.m. on May 16 to discuss two requests for Design Commission Design Review (DSR). The meeting will be held at the community and event center and via Zoom.

One request comes from Islandian Condominiums HOA to paint and replace siding, install new windows, exterior sliding glass doors, and exterior storage room doors. It also includes the demolition of all unit deck railings and an installation of new glass railings.

Another request is to repair and remediate the Monaco Villa Condominiums. The scope includes the removal of all damaged and failing existing siding at the north, east, and south elevations. The architectural massing would also be improved as part of the repair.

Detailed instructions on how to comment live during the public hearing will be available online on or before May 17 at: https://www.mercerisland.gov/meetings
