MIPA holds successful blood drive

On June 3, MIPA (Mercer Island Preschool Association) partnered with the city of Mercer Island and American Red Cross to host a blood drive. During the worst national blood shortage in over a decade, the partners collected 36 units of blood and welcomed nine first-time donors. “Since each unit can be used in three different ways, that’s up to 108 lives impacted, in just one day,” according to MIPA.
