Islanders looking for food during Homecoming on Friday, Sept. 20, will have a variety of options among the food trucks at Terra Bella.

The shop is bringing in four food trucks at its gravel lot, starting with My Chef Lynn at 11 a.m., then Buns, Chopstix and Seattle Biscuit at 3 p.m. All trucks will serve food until 8 p.m.

“Lots of people have been saying, with Homecoming there are so many people down there, there’s not enough food — why don’t you guys bring trucks?” Steven Meade said. Meade’s wife, Nancy, owns and manages Terra Bella.

“We’ll have four trucks, hoping that’s enough for the demand,” he said.

My Chef Lynn serves eclectic street food and barbecue; Buns offers hamburgers; Chopstix is Pan-Asian, and Seattle Biscuit has a Southern flair.

While the weather is expected to be cloudy but dry on Friday, a tent will likely be set up in case of rain.

Terra Bella currently has a rotation of seven food trucks on weekdays at 2864 77th Ave. S.E. For a full schedule, go to www.mercerislandfoodtrucks.com.
