The National Merit Scholarship Association has released the list of semifinalists in the 2012 National Merit Scholarship Program. They include five from Mercer Island High School:

Kendall E Fagan, Samyukta L. Lanka, Andrea T. Lin, Alexander L. Mesher and Kelsey S. Skordal.

Islanders who attend high schools off-Island and received the distinction will be announced as their names are verified.
