National Prescription Drug Take Back Day set for April 26

The city of Mercer Island will host the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) National Prescription Drug Take Back Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 26 to collect tablets, capsules, patches and other solid forms of prescription drugs.

The local event will take place at the Mercer Island City Hall loading dock (9611 SE 36th St.).

According to the DEA’s website, the event “reflects DEA’s commitment to Americans’ safety and health, encouraging the public to remove unneeded medications from their homes as a measure of preventing medication misuse and opioid addiction from ever starting.”
