Night closures on I-90 next week across Mercer Island

Next week there will be a variety of closures on Interstate 90, as part of a continuing projects. The Active Traffic Management Project by the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will close lanes of I-90 across Mercer Island.

UPDATE: Because of inclimate weather, the WSDOT has canceled the closure of I-90 at the Mount Baker Tunnel in Seattle for Wednesday, Feb. 23. The closure of the on-ramps to eastbound I-90 from northbound I-5 and both ramps for directions of Rainier Ave. S will now be opened as well.

Next week there will be a variety of closures on Interstate 90, as part of a continuing projects. The Active Traffic Management Project by the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will close lanes of I-90 across Mercer Island. On Monday, Feb. 21, Wednesday, Feb. 23 through the morning of Friday, Feb. 25 the closures will include: • Eastbound I-90 at the Mount Baker Tunnel. The first lane closes at 7 p.m., the second at 9 p.m. and the third at 11 p.m. Traffic during the closures will be rerouted through the express lanes. All lanes will be reopened by 4 a.m. • The on-ramp from northbound Interstate 5 to I-90 will close each night from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. for construction. • The on-ramps both directions of Rainier Ave. S. to eastbound I-90 will close each night from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. Monday, Feb. 21 through the morning of Feb. 25, up to three lanes on westbound I-90 will close in various locations from 150th Ave. S.E. to Eighth Ave. S each night for construction work. The first lanes close at 7 p.m., the second at 9 p.m. and the third at 11 p.m. All will be reopened by 5 a.m. On Tuesday, Feb. 22, up to three lanes on eastbound I-90 will close in various locations from Eighth Ave. S. to 150th S.E. may close nightly for construction work.
