Oh! Chocolate by Krautheim will move its operations to a new Mercer Island location on the south side at the beginning of September.

It will have a soft opening on Sept. 1 and hold a grand opening later in the month at 8451 SE 68th St. Suite 105, in the QFC shopping center.

Margo Masaoka’s parents opened the Island shop — currently located at 2703 76th Ave. SE — 40 years ago, and the move is taking place because the building will be sold and developed.

According to its website, Oh! Chocolate spans three generations of the Krautheim family, with Masaoka now overseeing the original flagship store. She works alongside her daughter and son-in-law, Marisa and Ty Barrett, and Masaoka’s grandchildren enjoy visiting the Mercer Island store founded by their great-grandparents.
