The Washington state Attorney General’s office has released draft model rules for public disclosure procedures. The rules are now available for public comment. The model rules were developed at the direction of the Legislature as part of a comprehensive public records law unanimously approved during the 2005 session.

The Dwelling Company, a Mercer Island real estate development firm, is about halfway through demolition of a structure commonly known as the “shrink-wrap building” in downtown Bellevue. The building at the northeast corner of Bellevue Way N.E. and N.E. 12th Street, which leads into Bellevue’s core shopping district, has been wrapped in plastic since 2001 when the previous developer stopped work on it. It has been an eyesore for neighborhood residents and business owners alike
The Mercer Island Open Space Conservancy Trust together with the Mercer Island Parks and Recreation Department is seeking public comment on a proposed Encroachment Policy regarding Trust properties, namely Pioneer Park — a 113 acre forested park on the south end of the Island.
