The Mercer Island Youth and Family Services Foundation will hold its 19th annual fundraising breakfast virtually this year starting at 7:30 a.m. on Feb. 10. The foundation raises funds to support the city’s Youth and Family Services (YFS) so they can provide quality services to all Islanders.
To register for the Rise Up! event, visit https://tinyurl.com/yxpqflrz. People can also stay safe and healthy by buying Rise Up! breakfast masks.
Joel McHale — actor/comedian and Mercer Island High School (MIHS) alumnus — will be the master of ceremonies; Kelly John-Lewis — MIHS security liaison — will be the keynote speaker; and Bill Radke — KUOW Radio host — will conduct special interviews.
According to the foundation’s website: “Our Island’s families, businesses and nonprofit organizations are hurting. The COVID 19 pandemic will have lasting effects on our community for decades to come. Significant budget cuts, significantly limited Thrift Shop hours, reduced staff, and countless other challenges mean that our community must rally together. It’s time to Rise Up! for MIYFS.”
