Nathan Rogers will discuss the Well Constructed nonprofit at the Rotary Club of Mercer Island’s meeting on July 15 at the Mercer Island Community and Event Center, 8236 SE 24th St.
The main meeting begins at 12:30 p.m.; socializing is from noon to 12:30 p.m. Guests are always welcome and there is no fee to attend. A catered lunch is available for $25, or attendees can bring their own meal.
Rogers is the founder and president of Well Constructed, which has completed more than 400 projects, providing more than 220,000 people with sources of potable drinking water since its inception in 2015.
Rashed Anaba is the co-founder and CEO of the Ghana team. According to the Well Constructed website, “Growing up in the upper east region of Ghana, Rashed Anaba dreamed not only of having clean water, but to bring sustained access to clean water to the people of his community and beyond. After his father passed away during his youth, Rashed dropped out of school to provide for his family and enable his younger brothers to continue their education. Eventually, he started a small tourism business, and used that business to build connections to people outside Ghana with the means to fund the water wells that he envisioned.”
