School board chooses semifinalists to interview for superintendent spot

As of the March 1 deadline for application, the Mercer Island School Board had amassed 25 qualified applicants for a successor to retiring school district Superintendent Donna Colosky.

In an executive session on March 7 with board president Maggie Tai Tucker and search consultant Lydia Musher, the board was to choose the semifinalists it wants to meet by Zoom and prepare questions for those interviews, according to an online letter to the Mercer Island community from Tucker.

“Following those interviews, the board will select final candidates to invite for public visits and interviews later in March and will make a final selection in April,” she wrote.
