School supporter Kevin Scheid for City Council

There is no question that Kevin Scheid will work hard to benefit the entire community.

Our schools are a crucial part of the Mercer Island community because they play a major role in our children’s future. Moreover, the success of our schools enhances property values, attracts new residents and creates a vibrancy for everyone. Our schools also depend on sound decisions from our local government on issues that pertain to transportation, parks, bond ratings, development and infrastructure.

I encourage you to support Kevin Scheid for Mercer Island City Council. Kevin’s management credentials are solid. He received his engineering degree from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and his MBA from Purdue University. Kevin recently retired as the head of U.S. Coast Guard Search and Rescue for Washington and Oregon. In this capacity, he gathered extensive and widespread experience in environmental concerns, emergency preparedness, law enforcement and overseeing large budgets.

In their 19 years on the Island, the Scheids strongly supported schools as their four children graduated from Mercer Island High School. Kevin continues to support the schools and recognizes the need to solve the overcrowding problem.

Furthermore, for the high school to continue progressing and excelling in all academic areas, he strongly endorses the additional facilities for the STEM curriculum. He supports the approach and efforts of the Mercer Island School Board in addressing these problems. There is no question that Kevin will work hard to benefit the entire community.

Please join me in putting a new voice of experienced leadership onto the Council by voting for Kevin Scheid.
