Screenings of ‘Race to be Human’ on tap

MI Parent Edge will host a film screening of “Race to be Human” followed by a panel discussion from 7-9 p.m. on Oct. 17 at the Mercer Island High School Performing Arts Center, 9100 SE 42nd St.

According to MI Parent Edge, the film “helps us understand the impact of racism through the stories and expertise of students, scholars, and educators.”

The film is appropriate for adults and kids age 10 and over. To register, visit www.miparentedge.org.

The event will be presented in partnership with MI Parent Edge, Friends of the Mercer Island Library, Mercer Island High School PTSA Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee, Mercer Island School District and Mercer Island Youth and Family Services.

Film screenings only will occur at 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 17 and 2 p.m. on Oct. 18 at the Mercer Island Library, 4400 88th Ave SE.
