The Blue Angels soar and dive while onlookers watch from the water and the bridge.

The weather last weekend was perfect for all things Seafair, including the air show featuring the U.S. Navy Blue Angels.

Some onlookers wore hearing protection against the roar of the jet engines, watching from the water or the I-90 bridge.

The smoke from the planes is created when biodegradable, paraffin-based oil is pumped into the exhaust nozzles of the aircraft and instantly vaporized. The smoke is for show, but also provides another means by which the pilots can track each other.
