Seattle Prep managed to outlast the Mercer Island boys in a 68-62 triple-overtime win in the 3A district quarterfinals Tuesday night at Bellevue College. After getting a crucial defensive stop at the end of the second overtime period, the Islanders struggled to connect on the offensive end to close out the game.

Seattle Prep’s Collin Welp led all scorers with 21 points. Josh Stenberg led Mercer Island with 16 points, while Nick Taylor and Ethan Chen both had 15. Mercer Island will take on Lakeside in a lose-out game at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20 at Bellevue College.
