SOS registers as political committee

Save Our Suburbs (SOS) is considering endorsing candidates in the general election.

Community group Save Our Suburbs (SOS) is planning to get more involved in the upcoming election by endorsing candidates and registering as a Political Committee.

“If SOS endorses candidates and spends money that influences voting, then SOS is legally required to register with the Public Disclosure Commission as a Political Committee,” according to an email update from group leader Michelle Goldberg. “To give SOS the greatest flexibility, and out of an abundance of caution, the Steering Committee has decided to register SOS as a Political Committee. This would be for this upcoming election only.”

The group will focus on density, development and transportation issues during the election.
