Students receive honors from AAUW | School news

Young women from the Bellevue and Mercer Island School Districts were honored at a reception by the Lake Washington Branch of the American Association of University Women as part of AAUW Scholars program on April 17. Each was chosen by her school for outstanding scholarship in math, science or technology.

Mary Wingerson received an award for mathematics and Rachel Van Gelder was awarded for science.

The American Association of University Women is a national organization that promotes education and equity for all women and girls. It is open to women with degrees and certificates from regionally accredited institutions as well as students enrolled in bachelor or associates degree programs.
