Dec. 3

Warrant arrest: A subject was booked into the South Correctional Entity (SCORE) jail in Des Moines on a Mercer Island Police Department warrant for third-degree driving while license suspended. After police took the subject into custody, the subject was initially held at the King County Jail. The misdemeanor charge can result in fines and a criminal record, according to the Washington State Attorneys website, which adds, “This charge is often due to unpaid tickets or a lapse in insurance coverage.”

Disorderly conduct: Police arrested a subject for disorderly conduct in the 2800 block of 78th Avenue Southeast. Police reported that the subject was not listening and continuously yelling when instructed to stop.

Dec. 4

Warrant arrest: A subject was booked into the Issaquah City Jail on a Mercer Island Police Department/Washington Crime Information Center warrant for second-degree driving while license suspended. Police took the subject into custody and the subject was initially being held at the Lynnwood City Jail. The gross misdemeanor charge can result in a maximum penalty of 364 days in jail and a $5,000 fine, comes with a one-year license suspension and counts as a strike for Habitual Traffic Offender Status. “The most common way that a license becomes suspended in the second degree is due to a DUI or a reckless driving conviction,” according to the Washington State Attorneys website.

Accident: A minor traffic collision occurred at a school in the 4000 block of 86th Avenue Southeast. Both parties involved left the scene, but the reporting party claimed an injury.

Dec. 6

DUI arrest: Police arrested a subject for driving under the influence in the 7800 block of Southeast 28th Street and booked the subject into Issaquah City Jail. Police stopped the driver for failing to halt at a red light and having their headlights out.

Dec. 8

Rifle turned in: A resident turned in a World War 2-era rifle with a missing bolt for destruction at the Mercer Island Police Department office.

Dec. 9

Civil dispute: Following a civil dispute over a vape device in the 3900 block of Gallagher Hill Road, the reporting party gave police the device to return to the owner.
